Long before the events of Dragon Ball Z, the wizard Bibidi created Majin Buu as the ultimate living weapon. Unable to control his uncontrollable rage, Bibidi sealed him inside a magical egg, which was eventually transported across the galaxy by his son, Babidi. Upon release, Buu's power was so immense that he quickly devoured the Supreme Kai and the Grand Supreme Kai, absorbing their essence and altering his own form into a more docile but still dangerous state known as Fat Buu.
The entity is not merely one being but a composite of multiple personalities. When split by a magical technique, Buu separated into a pure evil version (Evil Buu) and a benevolent version (Good Buu). Evil Buu quickly absorbed Good Buu to regain his full strength, becoming Super Buu, who then absorbed Gotenks and Piccolo before being defeated by Goku. In the final confrontation, the original Fat Buu was restored when Good Buu merged with him again, creating a being of pure goodness that ultimately chose peace over destruction.
